The First Collection
This collection was published in 2001, when the Publishing House “Nieko rimto” was born. When Arvydas Vereckis ( who was the one to put on fire this not serious pot) asked me to give him as many the most beautiful pictures as I can, I opened my SUITCASE, where I treasured the art works, which, to my mind, were too good to be sold. They were somehow full of inspiration, so I saved them and did not give away. So we unframed them, prepared to print, printed them and brought them back home.
At that time the little “Nieko rimto” thought that it would be the publisher of art reproductions, promoting the art by Sigutė Ach. However, after the first book “Ambrosio, Purkey and the Angel’s Journey Home” was published, the little Publishing House found its destiny to launch into the world hundreds of wonderful books for children and become the unique and famous Publishing House in Lithuania.
And my first collection settled in the storeroom and was travelling along with expanding Publishing House from home to the Old Town, then to Dūmų street, where now the colourful and joyful life of the Publishing House “Nieko rimto” is bubbling.
