I started to model much earlier than to draw. Miniatures showed up when I moved to a very small house and there was no room for my clay studio. Sometimes I thought of returning to ceramics as new developing technical possibilities tempted me. Like in a fairy tale, one nice day these dreams came true – I mould in “Midenė”- where real high fire fireclay works of art come to life. So once I have some free time, I fly there to feel happy, as clay is the material where strength and fragility meet together, it can become romantic or severe, while working you must be a poet and an engineer, a dreamer and an architect in one. Finally you have to be a chemist and a painter… Briefly speaking, it is the material for magicians, and if you don’t feel like one, you become a miracle creator when you hold a piece of clay in your hands… Such is the clay - even Gods modeled from it.
